The French subsidiary of the European publisher integrates Luxid Annotation Server within its editorial system. Objective: indexing information and enabling new content monetization opportunities

– Expert System (EXSY.MI), the leader in multilingual cognitive computing technology for the effective management of unstructured information, today announced that it has signed a license agreement with Mondadori Magazines France, a Mondadori France company (French subsidiary of a major European publisher). Mondadori Magazines France chose Expert System’s semantic content enrichment platform, Luxid Annotation Server, to enhance the usage of its editorial content to drive the creation of new and innovative data-oriented digital products and services.

Mondadori France provides a wide range of products that spans all genres and reaches all readers, publishing both print and digital magazines, websites and mobile applications covering a variety of segments including TV, celebrities, health, fashion, science, leisure or automotive.

Digital publishers understand the importance of positive reader experience for driving traffic and generating revenue. In this context, Mondadori France has defined a strategy to deploy data-oriented content to maximize traffic and website stickiness.

“Expert System solutions will allow us to deploy a full-scale semantic approach that will support our digital expansion with new and innovative data-driven products,” said Maÿlis Leroux, Digital Marketing Director, Mondadori France Group.

Selected for its ability to enrich content with semantic metadata and transform it into actionable data, Expert System’s Luxid Annotation Server is tightly integrated with partner ViaSema’s annotator solution. The platform processes content to generate metadata based on generic text annotators using open thesauri like the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) or proprietary annotators that leverage in-house business terminologies. The solution has been integrated within Mondadori France’s CMS with an automated process to semantically analyze its contents.

“We are thrilled to start this collaboration with a leading publishing company like Mondadori France. We believe that this new semantic platform developed in collaboration with our partner ViaSema will efficiently support Mondadori’s digital transformation, providing the publisher with leading-edge semantic capabilities,” said Vincent Nibart, Sales Director – Publishing Europe, Expert System France.
