Expert System Named for the Fifth Time in a Row One Of “100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management”

11 March 2019

Artificial Intelligence company Expert System has been recognized in the “KM 100” by leading information provider KMWorld every year since 2015.

Expert System has been named as one of KMWorld’s 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management 2019. Compiled over the course of the year via input from editors, analysts, experts and, most importantly, users, this distinction is bestowed on companies that capture KMWorld’s attention based on functionality, demonstrated success with clients, creativity and innovation.

“The 2019 KMWorld 100 list spans a wide variety of companies that are each addressing the evolving demands of knowledge management,” said Tom Hogan, Group Publisher of KMWorld. “Some are long-standing companies with well-established offerings that have evolved over time, while others are much more recent entrants to the field. In selecting organizations to be included on the list, we consider insights gleaned from our own interactions with companies during interviews and events, how they have succeeded in helping customers solve business problems, and we review product updates to make sure that capabilities are advancing to address evolving requirements.”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) helps automate the harvesting and use of knowledge by enterprise systems. It is improving information discovery and enabling intelligent process automation by extending the reach of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) into mission-critical, knowledge-based workflows.

A case in point, Expert System’s Cogito® Platform provides a natural language processing pipeline that accelerates enterprise processes by automatically reading and extracting information from the unstructured documents they rely on, such as customer correspondence, contracts, claims, medical reports, and other documents. Cogito® empowers enterprise systems to intelligently classify and route cases to the most relevant operator, flag anomalies and higher-risk cases, as well as take straight-through processing decisions for mainstream cases.

“Knowledge Management is breaking out of its traditional confines. Working hand-in-hand with Artificial Intelligence, it is enabling the transformation of the enterprise through intelligent process automation and smarter decision-making,” said Daniel Mayer, SVP Products at Expert System. “We are proud to be recognized by KMWorld as one of the leaders of this ecosystem.”
